I already see the benefit of collaborating with my fellow classmates. I am sure that professors of courses like this are encouraged to "hide" in the hope that the students will come together, asking one another questions as they fish around the course web site. Admittedly, this is the part of the course I am the most excited about. It will be nice knowing lectures will be an uncommon feature within this program. Just as when fellow colleagues come together to produce a product at work, I do expect that my classmates and I will interact through this blog, giving each other feedback and helping one another to grow.
I can also see the benefit a superintendent might have especially when he/she reaches to interact with fellow colleagues in other districts. Being the professional at the top is anything but easy. Having a trusted set of fellow superintendents to reflect with can help aggregate various viewpoints and consider the multiple facets of a given matter requiring resolution. Blogs are an appropriate venue to facilitate superintendent interaction.
I look forward to exploring other methods for utilizing this venue from my fellow classmates. I expect this method of action research will assist me in obtaining a deep level of understanding about the role of a superintendent as well as develop a set of skills that will assist me as my career evolves.
